Kola shows poise.

With an alert attitude and a lot of fun, we get people excited about a good cause. At fritz-kola, words are followed by actions.

Exit right.

We create space for tolerance and speak out loudly against hatred, incitement, and exclusion. That's why we support organizations like EXIT Deutschland and Laut gegen Nazis in their work against right-wing extremism. For example, in 2021, with the "no hate" collection, we collected donations amounting to €20,000 for EXIT Deutschland together with recolution and FC St. Pauli.

it's good to use the choice when you have it.

Democracy is not easy. It is repeatedly threatened. By those who want no choice. By those who are hostile to everything unknown. By those who build walls and close borders. That's why, for the 2021 federal election, we urged young people to vote with the "Manipulate the Election" campaign. For the 2019 European election, we also changed our logo and raised awareness for the election with a special label on our bottles.

We stand by our kola-borateurs.

We are passionate about places where people come together, celebrate, and engage in good causes. Because good can also be a party. That's why we work with many event organizers and festivals, clubs like FC St. Pauli, and associations like Clubcommission Berlin e.V..

for more diversity in our own ranks.

Our employees at fritz are a colorful and slightly crazy bunch, and they are the heart of our organization. We want to become even more diverse. To achieve this, we have founded our own Diversity & Inclusion team and signed the Charta der Vielfalt (Diversity Charter). The team is currently focusing on the topics of gender, sexual orientation, and origin of our employees. Take a look.

kola protects the environment.

We are not afraid to tackle the biggest challenge of our time: to save the planet, we prefer to start with ourselves.

Regional production means short distances and low emissions.

We like to keep our loved ones close, which is why we produce regionally and conserve resources – this also protects the environment. Our packaging suppliers are 100% based in Germany. And with our 0.33 and 0.5-liter pool bottles, we also shorten transport routes because they are shared by other manufacturers. We're not picky about that.

Sustainable promotional products.

Our internal promotional materials policy sets the tone, which has become even sharper with an update in 2021: the means to an end should be durable, environmentally friendly, and recyclable. By 2025, we aim for over 95% sustainable promotional materials.

Gauge: We commit to the UN's 1.5° climate target.

When things get serious, we trust science: since 2019, we have been calculating our greenhouse gas emissions in CO2 equivalents (co2e). In 2021, we joined the Science Based Targets initiative, committing to the United Nations' 1.5°C target. For us, this means: we use a climate impact model to calculate our climate impact, define science-based targets for reducing our emissions, and thus can make climate-conscious business decisions. Our goals:

  • By 2030: Reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 46% (compared to 2019), measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions
  • By 2025: 100% sustainable mobility for fritzen employees (e-mobility, public transport/long-distance transport, cycling)
  • By 2025: Reduce water, heat, and electricity consumption per bottle by 20%
  • By 2025: Increase the proportion of organic-certified raw materials (excluding sugar) to 90%

Kola is making an effort.

It's good to care for others. It's good to include others. It's good to remain attentive and open-minded.

Pfand belongs next to the bin.

Over 1 million people in Germany collect empty returnable bottles to earn a little extra money. Many of them risk the humiliating and dangerous act of reaching into rubbish bins. The "Pfand gehört daneben" (Deposit belongs next to it) initiative, founded by Matthias (Matze) Seeba-Gomille and now continued by fritz-kola, calls for empty returnable bottles to be placed next to rubbish bins instead of being thrown into them. This is for the people who collect them, for the environment whose resources are scarce, and also for the reusable system in which the bottles are needed back.

With "pfand gehört daneben", we draw attention to the reality of life for people who collect deposits and thus strengthen their voice in society. Together with NGOs, foundations, and other supporters, we implement various actions that particularly benefit homeless and rough sleeping people. This includes the summer heat relief every year: we distribute water ourselves and encourage society to donate an extra bottle of water to people on the street who find little protection on hot summer days. With "every bottle helps", we have been extending this commitment to Europe since 2021. This is because, due to the single-use plastics directive of the EU, deposit systems will be in place by the end of the decade.

elbe-werkstätten: individual support because every person has different needs.

We are happy about everyone who makes our team even more diverse and colorful. We also want to support people who, for example due to a disability, have difficulties in the open labor market and need individual support and integration into their work environment. That's why we have been working with Elbe-Werkstätten in Hamburg since 2015. Unlike the general labor market, Elbe-Werkstätten provides additional services for people. Depending on the support people need and want, these include nursing activities, occupational and physical therapy, as well as various educational, sports, and cultural programs. All of this promotes people in their personal development, health, and social integration. We experience how important this work is through direct and regular exchange, during visits of Elbe employees to our office and during our on-site visits. We are also a long-term partner because we are very satisfied with the cooperation and exchange.

kola stays awake.

Staying awake is our thing. We're big on caffeine. And just as big on high-quality, natural ingredients and mindful enjoyment.

no overdoing it thanks to small portion bottles.

For us, Kola is a luxury food and a cultural asset for adults. Not a staple food or mass-produced item. That's why our products are only available in portion-sized bottles of 0.2, 0.33, and 0.5 liters – and not in 2-liter plastic containers. Because larger bottles also mean more sugar. Why? Because we humans tend to finish opened bottles. Science calls this the portion size effect and has proven it in many studies.

There's always room for improvement.

We are constantly improving our recipes: Since 2016, we have reduced the average calorie content of our beverages by over 12 percent – by 2025, it should be 20 percent.

We also want you to be able to decide how you wake up. That's why we offer our cola in different varieties: our classic fritz-kola. fritz-kola bio, fritz-kola classic light and fritz-kola super zero.

For all of them, the following applies: we exclusively use real cola nut extract and naturally sourced caffeine. We also only use natural ingredients for our fritz-limos. All our fritz products are vegan and gluten-free. But of course, that's no reason why our cola should be consumed by pregnant or breastfeeding women, or by children.
